Dectron has chosen to design its auxiliary
gas heat option in the form of
an outdoor boiler supplying glycol to
a unit mounted hot water coil. The
primary reason is safety. If chloramine
laden air were ever to be introduced
to the combustion air stream, the
result would be the production of
hydrochloric (HCL) acid. This will
never occur with our outdoor boiler
design, resulting in peace of mind and
reduced liability for the system
designer. With a 1:5 turndown, it also
gives Dectron Inc. superior control of
the supply air temperature.
Another benefit of the boiler design
is that it can also be sized to provide
auxiliary pool water heating in addition
to the space heating. This means
that the seasonal shutdown of existing
boilers is possible in retrofit applications.
Outdoor DRY-O-TRON®s can be packaged
with an integral boiler which
includes factory-mounted pump kit
and expansion tank. They are factory charged with a mixture of 50% deionized
water, 47.5% ethylene glycol and
2.5% DowTherm® anti-corrosion
package for -30° F (-34° C) and factory
tested.
Indoor DRY-O-TRON®s can be field
piped with remote boilers that come
with factory supplied expansion tank
kit and pump. External piping, valves
and glycol are by others.
